Thomas Dixon Centre Redevelopment

From the get-go we knew this was going to be a challenging project for all involved. Whenever you combine a heritage listed refurbishment with a new build you just know there is a lot of attention paid to finishing trades and that’s exactly what the architect Conrad Gargett had in mind. With three different architectural hardware finishes (PVD-TC5H Gun-metal grey , PVD-ZN5H Satin Brass and the classic Satin Stainless steel) as well as custom designed timber entrance handles in multiple timber species (Whian Blackbutt, QLD Silver Ash & the stunning Hairy Oak) all supplied & installed to beautiful timber joinery glazed doors the finished result eyecatching and elegant.

Unfortunately, when you combine custom timber handles and PVD finished hardware you will always face long lead times for the product. To keep the the project moving and doors being hung, we supplied & installed temporary hardware in place of the PVD finished items then swapped them over once they had arrived. This allowed the project to meet it’s milestones as required.

With this one, the results really speak for themselves. After the final master keyed cylinders were installed, door closers adjusted, and the ballet shoes in place, you can truly appreciate what Hansen Yuncken accomplished on this difficult build.
